Why don't you give any prices on your pages?

The prices of batteries are constantly changing. Due to changes in commodity prices, above all lead, the times that fixed prices are valid are very short and must be adjusted after a few weeks or months. Our electrical components are always assembled specifically to the customer's wishes, so it doesn't make sense to mention prices. Please ask for an offer that is tailored to your needs.

Why is the validity period of your offer comparatively short or subject to a change in the MPI?

The prices of batteries are constantly changing. Due to changes in commodity prices, above all lead, the times that fixed prices are valid are very short and must be adjusted after a few weeks or months. If we expect a change in the MPI and if your offer is to be valid over such a period, we must reserve the right to add an increase in the MPI to the price.

What is MPI?

Because the prices of some metals are not stable over time (especially that of lead varies strongly), a base price is made for products with high levels of these metals, and the daily price of the metal is taken into account by a surcharge called the metal price increase and abbreviated MPI.

Can different manufacturers be compared simply based on their prices?

This is a difficult question, but it has a simple answer. No, products can not be compared solely as to their prices. For more expensive products, it can be assumed that the service is usually better or even that the product is much better, even if the information in the data sheets is identical. Battery production in China, for example, is not subject to the same principles of environmental protection and work safety which we observe in the EU. This results in a significant price advantage for these products, but at the expense of human beings and the environment.

There are many aspects that are to be considered when comparing two seemingly "identical" products, as sometimes the more expensive product is the better and less expensive choice in the long run. We would be glad to advise you.

Why are there so many different types of lead-acid batteries?

Lead-acid batteries have been under continuous development for over a hundred years. So many applications have emerged that it became necessary to optimise batteries for certain properties. Accordingly, there are many types today. High current-capable, deep-cycle, rechargeable - the customer can often not determine with certainty the properties that a battery must have for an application; in cases where no specific type of battery is required, only a specialist can determine the necessary battery.

When should a battery be replaced?

There are various criteria, such as if safe operation is no longer possible (corrosion of the connectors), if further operation is uneconomical (the power balance between the charging capacity and the discharging capacity differs by a large amount), necessary technical properties no longer exist (such as insufficient capacity), or if the period of use in systems that must have high uptimes has been exceeded (emergency power systems).

With the necessary know-how and the right instruments, we can assist you in making a decision.

What is a maintenance contract good for? What is the value for money?

At first glance, the cost of a maintenance contract has no economic equivalent - but only at first glance. Maintenance is required for safety-related equipment; a maintenance contract will help you keep track of the service periods. But even if there is no obligation for maintenance, servicing can significantly extend the battery life. Timely measures in the event of pole corrosion are just one example of the great positive effect that can be achieved with just a little maintenance.
